Marjorie Lund is the founder and managing principal of Lund Opsahl. Her extensive experience in structural engineering includes more than 40 years of designing and building commercial structures, educational facilities, community centers, recreational facilities, and medical buildings. Dedicated to incorporating sustainable design practices in all of her projects, Marjorie established the Sustainability Committee for the Structural Engineers Association of Washington in 2009 and subsequently published an article on the sustainability of the award winning Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center in Modern Steel Construction magazine. Marjorie has been recognized nationally for her work in the field of structural engineering, most notably receiving the 2009 AISC Innovative Design in Engineering and Architecture with Structural Steel: Merit Award for Projects $75M and Greater in recognition for her innovative structural applications and cost-saving measures. In 2016, Governor Jay Inslee appointed Marjorie to the Washington State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Using the knowledge and experience gleaned from a successful career, she will help guide the Board’s mission to uphold public safety through licensing and policy.
