This week, we want to highlight a few of our projects that have won awards over the past year: Byrd Barr Place (architect: SHKS Architects) won a 2020 AIA Award of Merit; Fort Worden Maker’s Studio (architect: Signal Architecture + Research) was shortlisted for the Architectural Review’s New Into Old Award, received and AIA Honor Award, and was recognized by the Young Voices Selection for community engagement; the Fairmont Olympic Interior Remodel (Architects: I Can Find Them) won a NAIOP award for Historical Renovation of the Year; and also at NAIOP the Alexan Central Park (architect: Jackson Main) won Multi Family Residential Urban Development of the Year. We are incredibly proud of all the work we did on these projects, but we’re particularly happy to be recognized for our work on historical retrofits and remodels. Preserving history through retrofit is the most sustainable design technique, and extending the stories of old buildings for the next generations is a one of our specialties and pleasures.
