The office gathered for reflection and celebration of Women’s History Month with our third annual “Women in A&E” Q&A panel. We had the honor of hosting industry leaders including Tobi Wray, IIDA, NCIDQ, RDI, Francesly Sierra, AIA,DBIA Britt Beushausen and Rebecca Wong, and our moderator, Alissa Capuano. The stories were empowering, entertaining, and real in a way that actually sticks with you long after the event ends. Some key takeaways from the panel include:
→ Do not gatekeep solutions. If you’ve navigated a challenge, share it. Someone else is right behind you trying to figure it out.
→ The table isn’t limited, make it bigger. Create more space instead of competing for a seat.
→ Mentorship isn’t optional. It’s how we got here, and it’s how the next generation will too.
There was a common thread across every story: someone took the time to support, guide, and advocate & now it’s on us to do the same!
We are grateful to be part of a design community that shows up in a way that is honest, collaborative, and willing to have the conversations that actually move things forward.
